DAY 1: Inverness, Cranesmuir and the Gardens of Versailles, among others!
Regions: The Kingdom of Fife and Perthshire
If you are truly in love with this wonderful and well-set series about the history of beautiful, dramatic, and romantic Scotland through our friends Jamie & Claire, get ready because this is a tour full of emotions, experiences, and sensations—and we are starting strong.
Today we visit truly charismatic places from the series, such as the village used for filming Inverness, the B&B where Claire and Frank stayed and the shops they visited, as well as the impressive Gardens of Versailles! These were filmed at one of the Scottish palaces listed as among the most elegant in Europe.
It is a very intense and exciting day, so we continue; we also visit the square where a boy was punished for stealing under the window of Geillis’ home, as well as the garden where Claire gathered her herbs—basically, the main locations from Seasons 1 & 2, the most authentic ones regarding romantic Jacobite Scotland.
Between locations, we are going to take you to visit authentic Scottish Jewels, such as Dunfermline Abbey, where the body of the most famous Scottish King, Robert the Bruce, is buried. He defeated the English troops of Edward II at Stirling, and after his wish to be buried in the Holy Land via Spain was frustrated, he was moved here as his final resting place. Visiting more Scottish castles, we will see the monastery where Claire and Murtagh brought Jamie to recover from his assault in prison by Jack Randall, in addition to the bucolic beach of this beautiful town.
Do you remember the picturesque French port where Claire & Jamie disembarked while fleeing that horrific experience? We are bringing you here too. We will see the castle that serves as MacRannoch’s house, as well as the church where the rigged witchcraft trial of Claire & Geillis was filmed. Intense and exciting, right? Well, there is even more and it’s only the first day: we see the beautiful Scottish village of Dunkeld, home of the first Pictish King, and we sleep in the town that is perhaps—if not the most—the very first tourist town in all of Scotland: Pitlochry. You are going to love it!

DAY 2: The tax collection village and Culloden Moor, among others!
Regions: Cairngorms National Park and Inverness-shire
A second and varied day! Well, we have our Scottish porridge just like Jamie and set off to explore the lands of Outlander!
We begin the day visiting a small lake and enchanted forest where Pictish elves and fairies lived, along with their corresponding Celtic druids. After this magical visit, we see what is known as the most beautiful view in bucolic Alba: “The Queen’s View”, a magnificent lake surrounded by beautiful forests! Just by imagining this, you will understand why Scotland is loved by everyone who knows of it or visits it.
Do you remember the village where Dougal, Jamie & Claire collected taxes for the MacLeods and—”secretly”—for the Jacobite uprising? Also where Claire helped the local women treat the clothes? We visit this beautiful recreation of the Scottish way of life in the 18th century.
We are also taking you to another beautiful lake surrounded by forests where we will have the opportunity to walk a bit, to the mountain sports base town of Aviemore, and all this, of course, while gaining strength like the strong Highlanders and Jamie himself by tasting their national drink: “Scotch” or Whisky, the “Water of Life” as the ancient Picts called it. This land produces the best whisky in the world and its most famous brands.
We visit a beautiful and famous distillery to learn about its entire process and enjoy a tasting; in this way, we live and feel even more like a real Scot. We still have many places and locations to visit, such as the sadly famous and real battlefield: “Culloden Moor”, where in 1746 Prince Bonnie Prince Charlie led the brave Highlanders to their deaths in a sword charge against the large British army armed with artillery—a sad historical event and practically a horrific execution.
We visit the memorial stone of Clan Fraser, among others who actually fought and died there, just as Claire visits it to bring flowers. Additionally, we visit the Bronze Age dolmens (standing stones) on the outskirts of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, which gave the series the idea for traveling back to that convulsive and turbulent Scottish era during the Jacobite Wars. Here, in the beautiful capital of the Highlands, watched over by its castle and near the River Ness, we will have dinner and rest for today! Another bucolic and romantic day.

DAY 3: The escape of Prince Charles Stuart and the Loch Ness Monster!
Regions: Caledonian Canal, Ness, and the Isle of Skye.
It will seem incredible to you that we have only been on the road for three days given everything we have already lived and traveled through at the hands of Jamie & Claire—half of Scotland full of adventures, magnificent emotions, experiences, and beautiful moments. Well, we are going for many more, as beautiful Scotland holds a precious experience and sensation behind every munro!
Today we momentarily leave Outlander to show you one of the most famous, romantic, and beautiful routes and visits in all of Scotland. Truly, today’s route design is impressive: Loch Ness, the Caledonian Canal, and the highly filmed and touristy Isle of Skye, where Flora MacDonald hid Prince Charles Stuart disguised as her maid from the British army, thus managing to save his life.
First thrill after departing from the capital of the Highlands: a cruise on a magnificent catamaran across Loch Ness in search of the friendly Nessie! We disembark at the imposing Urquhart Castle to explore it and continue our route along the Caledonian Canal, which connects the Atlantic Ocean with the cold North Sea, crossing all of Scotland for small boats and joining both seas.
We arrive at the beautiful Isle of Skye, chosen for its outdoor locations by famous film directors like Steven Spielberg, among others. We are going to get to know this wonderful island in depth, visiting the most famous natural jewels of Alba such as: Neist Point, Portree, the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Glen, the Kilt Rock cliff—with folds in its rocks that resemble a Scottish kilt—Uig, and other impressive natural sites.
Tonight, we sleep on this beautiful island as if in a fairy tale! Rest well!

DAY 4: Fort William, Atlantic boat exploration and Eilean Donan Castle!
Regions: Isle of Skye and Lochaber!
How are you feeling today? We hope you are falling in love with our journey through the land of dreams and Outlander!
We have our succulent Scottish breakfast because today is another day of adventure where we will need to gather our strength—exciting! Let’s go for it! Without leaving the Isle of Skye, we head toward the southern part of the island. Along a beautiful and narrow road, hundreds of Skye sheep watch us curiously! In these natural landscapes, they are the usual residents.
After navigating past them through inhospitable, movie-like landscapes, we arrive at Elgol, a bucolic Scottish village overlooking the North Atlantic. Here, we will take a small boat to sail and observe the curious seals on the rocks—as they watch us back—and reach the famous and idyllic Loch Coruisk, where we will go on a small excursion at the foot of Skye’s massive and famous Cuillin Mountains. It’s a beautiful excursion we’re about to experience.
Following in the footsteps of Outlander and its protagonists, we are going to head to one of the most important locations of the series. Although it wasn’t filmed here (but in another castle we will take you to on the last day), remember it well because it was very hard for Jamie to visit: Fort William! This was the fort where Jack Randall had his headquarters. We head there today, but aside from the series, it is a fun, very proud, and lively Scottish town at the foot of the highest mountain in the entire United Kingdom: “Ben Nevis”, which we will experience and enjoy.
Surely today we will enjoy a pleasant evening in one of the famous Scottish pubs or taverns where we will take you, and perhaps even strike up a conversation with a friendly local. Impressive, right? Well, among many other views and visits, today we also have another passionate route in which we explore the most romantic castle in all of Scotland: “Eilean Donan Castle”. It was occupied in 1719 by a Spanish regiment and has been the setting for famous films such as James Bond’s “The World Is Not Enough”, “Highlander”, scenes from “Braveheart”, etc. We will tell you and live its great history.
We have another great surprise saved for you: as we told you, Alba is not only the country of Outlander but of numerous other cinematic masterpieces. Yes, we are taking you to the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed in 1745—the real and historical site where he arrived from France. But not only that: this same place is where you can see the real viaduct from the “Harry Potter” saga and the lake where the Hogwarts Castle of Magic is located! Incredible but true, and all in one.
Beautiful emotions, sights, and visits today as well, which we will enjoy during a fun evening in Fort William, where we will sleep tonight!
DAY 5: A day full of Outlander locations!
Regions: Glen Coe, Loch Lomond, and The Trossachs National Park.
Well, well—what a tremendous day we have today (and tomorrow too) for you, lovers of Outlander and Jamie & Claire. An intense day of locations and beautiful landscapes! Let’s begin.
As soon as we leave Fort William, we head south to see truly bucolic and spectacular landscapes. In this idyllic setting, we arrive at the spectacular high valley of Glen Coe, also called the “Valley of Tears”, and in the proper place, we will tell you why. This beautiful valley, classified as the most imposing in Scotland, is the one that appears in the opening credits of every episode of the first season of Outlander and many other scenes. However, scenes from great films such as Braveheart, Rob Roy, 007 Skyfall, Harry Potter, and several others have also been filmed here…
We head towards Glasgow, Greater Glasgow, the most populated city in all of Scotland where many Outlander scenes have been filmed. But first, we have some impressive natural landscapes left, such as the largest lake in the entire United Kingdom: Loch Lomond! We will take a stroll to see the beautiful conservation village on its shores: Luss!
We will see cinematic views like the imposing Three Sisters mountains, Loch Tulla, and the romantic Loch Katrine, a source of inspiration for the great Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott and his poem “The Lady of the Lake”. Not only that, but it is also the birthplace of Rob Roy, chief of Clan MacGregor, brought to life in the movie of the same name by Irish actor Liam Neeson. Regarding Outlander, this lake is where Roger MacKenzie finds his place of inspiration and peace.
On this day, you won’t believe the huge and varied amount of famous content we are going to show you. You will visit in person Castle Leoch of Clan MacKenzie, which also appears in other cinematic scenes like Game of Thrones as the home of House Stark. With countless settings today, we will have lunch and coffee on the go because we are going to visit the castle that, along with Edinburgh’s, stands like a twin brother as the most important for the defense of Scotland against the English army: we visit Stirling Castle!
This was the coronation site of the beloved Scottish Queen Mary Stuart and a vital point of defense for the Scottish King Robert the Bruce, who stopped the advance and defeated the English troops of Edward II. These two are the kings most beloved by the Scots. But also, around this imposing castle, the “Battle of Stirling Bridge” took place, where William Wallace and his army of Highlanders defeated a much larger English army commanded by Edward I himself, the “Hammer of the Scots.”
They never managed to surrender Scotland by force. It is a very important place in its history. Before arriving in Greater Glasgow, we will see other beautiful lakes in this idyllic National Park and perhaps a friendly Highland Cow. Once in Glasgow, we will visit the place where Frank proposed to Claire and many others the following day—but for now, enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Glasgow!

DAY 6: A day full of Outlander locations!
Regions: Firth of Forth, Glasgow, and The Lothians.
Surely today you are trying to process so many beautiful views and magical places—unique in the world thanks to the geological history of this Celtic land and its culture—as well as the most important Outlander locations that will now stay in your life, mind, and heart forever. Well, hold on tight, because we have saved the treasure you likely long to see most for the very end; we will talk about it shortly.
But it’s not just one; we can say that today, on our final day of the tour, we have reserved the most important filming locations of the entire series for the end of the journey. We continue to surprise you today—hopefully very pleasantly—and we begin the day with…
In Glasgow itself, after visiting the famous Central Station, we head off to “walk in Boston” with Claire; yes, the park where she walked so often in Boston after returning with Frank. The next two visits in Glasgow will, we believe, impress you even more: do you remember the hospital in Paris, “L’Hospital Des Anges”, where Claire spent so many hours and gave birth to her first daughter? We are taking you to that very place, located inside the impressive Glasgow Cathedral. More? The Harvard University where Frank taught isn’t actually Harvard—it is the University of Glasgow itself, which we will visit and where scenes for Hogwarts in Harry Potter were also filmed.
We won’t give you any more clues; we continue our journey. We visit the palace, now in ruins but impressive in its time, where Mary Queen of Scots was born (remember her famous movie). The prison where Jamie is mistreated by the infamous Jack Randall? We will show you the place. We mentioned earlier that the filming location for Fort William was at another Scottish castle, where Jamie is flogged until he faints; well, we are visiting that too—an impressive fortress. Do you remember the opulent palace of the malevolent Duke of Sandringham? It is just as impressive in reality, and we are taking you to visit it.
We hope you are impressed already—if you love Outlander, you must be. We have taken you to practically every filming location in the mythical and mystical land of legend: Alba-Scotland. But… no, we haven’t forgotten and we aren’t finished yet. The main course is still to come ☺ a surprise… We are taking you to Jamie’s print shop! Yes, the house where he had his bucolic print shop and never lost hope of finding Claire again, as well as the alleyway where Claire reunites with Fergus in the market. Incredible content, right?
We are firmly convinced that our experience and dedicated study produce the best and most intense Tour and Vacation Programs in Scotland for you. We aim to create emotions and enjoyment, which is why we saved the most important locations of romantic Outlander for today, including… the chapel where Jamie & Claire were wed (“The Wedding”). And yes, if that isn’t romantic enough, we haven’t forgotten: yes, LALLYBROCH! We are bringing you to Lallybroch, the home of the Frasers!!!
Incredible but true—you only have to let us bring you to live this real dream in ALBA-SCOTLAND!
